Hygienic & Compliant Floors for Food & Drink Factories

Protect Your People and Minimise Risk

Food and beverage processing facilities are required to meet a range of health and safety criteria to ensure a hygienic environment that is safe for both the product and the people working. Our epoxy and resin floors meet the highest OH&S standards set by HACCP, TGA, AQIS and Food Safe, making them ideal for food and beverage manufacturing.

Over time, water and chemical exposure from food, drink and cleaning agents can deteriorate floors. High foot and equipment traffic can also lead to cracking or chipping of your floors, creating slip and hygiene hazards. But with the right flooring, you can mitigate these risks.

Our flooring solutions can be tailored to meet the unique demands of your facility and deliver:

Food & Beverage Manufacturing Floor FAQs

Polyurethane cement floors tend to be the most suitable resin flooring option for the food and beverage industry. Typically, food and beverage environments are heavy-duty and wet, requiring frequent wash downs, temperature cycling, chemical exposure, palletised and forklift traffic and more. Polyurethane cement flooring is hard wearing and non-slip. It can installed rapidly and has low odour and food safe characteristics, making it the ideal choice for new builds and maintenance applications.

Ascoat applies resin flooring systems from all major, reputable manufacturers. Typically, their products come with accompanying accreditation and or certification. If you have a specific standard, we can work with you to select a compliant material supplier to fulfill your requirements.

Depending on what temperatures the floor will be exposed to and what substances may be spilt on the floor, epoxy or polyurethane cement flooring may be used. Either way, it’s important to comply with slip ratings that exist under the Australian Standards for a commercial kitchen floor. Ascoat can advise you on the best choice for your specific requirements.

Ascoat installs various textures ranging from ultra-smooth to very coarse, and everything in between. We strongly recommend higher levels of non-slip if there are liquids involved in your process. If the process is mainly dry and floors can be kept clean, without excessive water being used (e.g. using a floor scrubbing machine instead of hosing down), smoother floors can be installed that provide a workable compromise.
