Protect Your Electronic Equipment & Systems with ESD Flooring

Protect Your People and Minimise Risk

Electronic equipment with highly sensitive microcircuits is particularly susceptible to damage caused by the sudden spike in electrical current that results from random static discharge. To mitigate this, Electro Static Dissipative (ESD) flooring should be installed where electronic equipment and systems are manufactured or handled. Our ESD flooring meets the highest OH&S standards as well as the protocols set by the ESD Association in their standard ANSI/ESD S20.20.

ESD flooring is designed to meet the unique demands of electrical manufacturing and handling and technology-based operations by providing:

Flooring for Electronics and Technology FAQs

Need help? Get in touch now for a free, no obligation consultation.

Electronics and High-Tech manufacturing and assembly demands a combination of near cleanroom requirements, similar to the pharmaceutical industry and general industrial manufacturing. Therefore, a combination of the features that work well in both of those industries work well in this environment. The floor needs to be easily cleaned, not shed any matter, and offer good light reflectivity. It must be tough, hard wearing, and able to deal with palletised traffic and forklift or crate type traffic.

Not always, however there is growing awareness of the dangers that accompany processing or sensitive electronic components even in a highly controlled manufacturing environment. Sensitive electronics that are exposed to manual handling in these environments have the potential to be damaged or destroyed by activities of personnel that generate static electricity.

Due to the mainly dry nature of electronics manufacture, there is little need for a highly slip resistant finish. Plus, a smooth floor surface also offers greater ease of cleaning. Often the topcoat is applied with a minimal off-roller texture or a very lightly textured finish.

Sometimes when dealing with the possibility of electrical discharge from devices being tested or manufactured, a floor needs to offer insulative protection to protect personnel engaged in activities. Ascoat has installed numerous resin-based insulative floors in both AC and DC environments.
